MY PROCESS |
There is beauty in imperfection - just look at a tree. Sometimes seeing beauty simply requires looking from a different angle, or a tilt of the head. Everything I see I try to imagine in its former glory or its new capacity, whether it is a client's relic or my own find. I pay tribute to original craftsmanship. Yet, combining Elements - wood, metal, stone - often inspires my imagination, providing texture, color and depth to a piece. Or it helps a client express his or her own vision.
|
My process begins with rescuing the discarded, the unwanted, refuse. Every piece is stripped & scrubbed clean before being restored or re-imagined (green methods a must). Where possible, original parts are reused, whether a bracket & screw, or a slab of wood. Some Elements rescued from vastly different sources find life together, like leather and a dresser, or film negatives and bullet casings. Each tells a story that I try to discover and relay. So meander through these pages to find the piece that speaks to you.

Transformations"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
Marilyn Monroe Pieces are selected for their craftmanship which means that after years of being neglected, or painted too many times, some indelible flaws can remain, whether it is a nick or imperfect wear of its new stain. Yet they're solid and carry beauty in little imperfections. WARNING: Your furniture will become conversation pieces. Their story becomes your story. |
